FTSE 100 Down on Friday

On Friday, the FTSE 100 experienced a decline, influenced by a technology sector selloff in New York and disappointing economic data from the UK. According to figures from the Office for National Statistics, the UK economy unexpectedly shrank during the three months leading up to October. British American Tobacco saw a significant drop of over 3%, while mining giants Anglo American, Glencore, Rio Tinto, and Antofagasta fell by 2%, 1.8%, 1.5%, and 0.9%, respectively. In the oil sector, both Shell and BP experienced declines of 0.7% and 0.9%. Similarly, banks such as Lloyds and NatWest also witnessed declines of about 1%.
