Slovenia Tourist Arrivals Rise 8.7% in December

In December 2025, Slovenia experienced an 8.7% increase in tourist arrivals compared to the same month the previous year, with the total reaching 376,000. This growth marks a recovery from a 3.1% decline witnessed in the preceding month. The number of international visitors increased significantly by 12.9%, totaling 264,940, while domestic arrivals saw a slight decrease of 0.3% to 111,437. The majority of international tourists originated from Hungary (+27%), Germany (+24.8%), Italy (+16.2%), Austria (+10.8%), and Croatia (+4.7%). Overnight stays also saw a boost, increasing by 5.8% to 877,000. This rise was primarily driven by visits to health and spa resorts (27%), mountain resorts (23%), Ljubljana (22%), and seaside resorts (12%). For the entire year, Slovenia recorded 6.993 million tourist arrivals, accounting for a 6.2% increase compared to the previous year, along with 17.843 million overnight stays, up by 5.9%. Foreign visitors were responsible for 75% of all overnight stays, with the highest number originating from Germany.
