Czech Retail Sales Growth Eases Slightly to 4.1% in August 2026

Retail sales growth in the Czech Republic slowed marginally in August 2026, with year-over-year turnover rising 4.1%, down from a 4.3% increase recorded in July 2026.

According to updated data released on 08 October 2026, the August figure reflects a modest cooling in consumer activity while still indicating solid annual growth. On a year-over-year basis, the July 2026 reading of 4.3% and the August 2026 reading of 4.1% both compare sales in each respective month to the same month a year earlier.

The figures suggest that, although momentum in retail demand has eased slightly, Czech consumers continued to spend at a relatively steady pace through the late summer period of 2026.
