Japan’s producer prices rose 7.2% year-on-year in July 2026, easing slightly from a marginally revised 7.3% increase in June, which had marked the fastest pace in more than three years. The latest figure came in just below market expectations of 7.4%. On a monthly basis, producer prices inched up 0.1%, a sharp slowdown from the upwardly revised 0.5% gain recorded in June and the weakest monthly increase in five months.
