Ghana’s October Inflation Edges Up to 5.5% YoY, Slightly Above September Reading

Ghana’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 5.50% year-over-year in October 2026, a modest acceleration from the 5.20% annual increase recorded in September 2026. The latest reading, updated on 4 November 2026, reflects price changes in October compared with the same month a year earlier.

Both the current and previous figures are measured on a year-over-year basis, meaning October’s 5.50% rate captures how much prices have increased since October of the prior year, while September’s 5.20% shows the change versus September a year earlier. The slight uptick suggests inflationary pressure in Ghana remains present but relatively contained, with price growth only marginally faster than in the previous month.
