According to preliminary data released by Statistics Iceland on Friday, employment in Iceland increased in November compared to both the previous month and the same period a year earlier. The number of individuals recorded as employed in the Icelandic labor market rose by 2 percent or 4,400 people year-on-year, reaching a total of 223,221 in November. This is an increase from the 221,533 registered as unemployed in October. Earlier reports in the month indicated that Iceland's unemployment rate fell for the second consecutive month in November.
