(RTTNews) - The US consumer price index for December is scheduled to be released at 8:30 am ET Friday. The consensus estimates call for a 1% decline in the consumer price index, but a 0.1% rise in the core consumer price index that excludes food and energy.
The US dollar moved sideways against other major units ahead of the report. As of 8:25 am ET, the greenback was quoted at 1.4925 against the pound, 90.45 versus the yen, 1.11964 against the Swiss franc and 1.3276 against the euro.
