US Stocks Inch Mostly Higher

US equity futures were little changed on Monday, as renewed optimism around the AI trade offset broader macroeconomic headwinds. Futures on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 edged higher, building on last week’s gains. Shares of AI hyperscalers and infrastructure providers advanced after Anthropic reported strong revenue growth, reinforcing expectations that AI model development and datacenter capital expenditures will remain robust over the medium term. The company generated $11.5 billion in revenue in the second quarter and is in talks with banks about a potential IPO that could rank as the largest on record.

Memory chipmakers Sandisk and Micron extended last week’s sharp gains in premarket trading, while Nvidia and Amazon also ticked higher. By contrast, more traditional sectors continued to lag, with the Dow hovering just below the flatline. Walmart and Home Depot traded subdued ahead of their earnings reports later this week.
