New Zealand Tourist Arrivals Rise 8.2% YoY in November

In November 2025, New Zealand experienced an 8.2% year-on-year increase in visitor arrivals, reaching a total of 347,600, with a significant influx from Australia. The number of visitors from Australia surged to 135,564, marking an increase of 9,500. Additional contributions to the rise in arrivals came from China, which saw an increase of 7,800 visitors; the United States, with a 3,800 visitor rise; and Canada, with 1,900 more arrivals. Conversely, there was a decline of 1,100 visitors from the United Kingdom. In terms of overall figures, arrivals in November 2025 reached 93% of the volume registered in November 2019, before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Australians made up 39% of the total visitors, compared to 36% in November 2019. Meanwhile, the United States accounted for 12%, China 8%, and the United Kingdom 6% of the total visitor numbers.
