Colombia Imports Jump Nearly 15% in October

In October 2025, Colombia experienced a 14.9% increase in imports compared to the previous year, reaching a total of $6.58 billion. This growth was primarily driven by a significant rise in the import of manufactured goods, which saw a 20.2% increase. Specifically, the importation of machinery and transport equipment rose 24.7%, while the importation of chemicals and related products went up by 14.9%. Additionally, there was a 13.1% increase in the purchase of agricultural, food, and beverage products, with food products and live animals seeing a noteworthy rise of 17.5%. Cumulatively, from January to October 2025, total imports amounted to $58.6 billion, marking an 11.4% increase from the same period in 2024.
