Poland’s March Retail Sales Surge 9.8% Year-on-Year, More Than Doubling February Pace

Poland’s retail sector recorded a sharp acceleration in March 2026, with sales rising 9.8% year-on-year, according to data updated on 23 April 2026. This marks a strong pickup from February 2026, when retail sales were up 4.3% compared with the same month a year earlier.

Measured on a year-over-year basis, the March performance shows that consumer spending momentum strengthened significantly as the first quarter drew to a close. The “actual” figure for March reflects the change versus March of the previous year, while the “previous” figure for February captures the year-on-year change versus February a year earlier. The more than doubling of the annual growth rate from 4.3% to 9.8% suggests an improving backdrop for domestic demand in Poland’s economy.
