In November 2025, the Netherlands' seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained steady at 4%, consistent with the figures from the preceding two months, marking the highest rate since September 2021. The number of unemployed individuals saw a decrease of 3,000, bringing the total down to 408,000 from October’s peak of over four years at 411,000. Concurrently, employment fell by 9,000 to a total of 9.846 million, while the labor force participation rate slipped to a four-month low of 76.2% from the previous month’s 76.4%. Throughout the month, 22.9 thousand new unemployment benefits were issued, raising the total to 194.1 thousand, while 24.1 thousand benefits were concluded. This reflects a year-over-year increase in the unemployment rate, which rose by 0.3 percentage points from 3.7% in November 2024.
