DAX Down for 4th Day

On Friday, Frankfurt's DAX 40 index dipped by 0.3%, falling below the 24,400 mark, as it faced its fourth consecutive day of downturns. This decline mirrors the overall muted sentiment found across European markets, which stems from mixed corporate earnings and persistent worries over risks associated with artificial intelligence. On the economic data side, Germany's industrial production experienced a sharper contraction than expected in December, halting a three-month streak of growth. In terms of sector performance, healthcare and consumer cyclicals were hit the hardest. Leading the losses was Siemens Healthineers, which dropped 4.2%, followed by declines in Zalando (-3.3%), Volkswagen (-2.3%), and SAP (-2%).
