India’s BSE Sensex closed about 1.2% higher at 72,472 on Friday, rebounding from two sessions of subdued trade amid broad-based gains and support from lower crude oil prices. Global risk appetite improved after President Donald Trump said the US would not launch a strike on Iran before the November 3 midterm elections and described ongoing talks as productive.
Technology shares led the advance, with TCS surging 4.2% after posting stronger-than-expected Q2 FY27 results. Infosys rose 3%, HCL Tech gained 2.8%, and Tech Mahindra added 1.4%. The tech sector had previously been under pressure due to worries over potential US green-card restrictions and uncertainty around global technology spending.
Additional support came from solid gains in banking, financial, and FMCG stocks, helping to underpin the broader market rally.
