New car sales in Indonesia rose 12.2% year-on-year to 81,159 units in February 2026, accelerating from a 7.0% increase in January. This improvement suggests that demand for new vehicles is gradually recovering after a weaker start to the year, supported by growing interest in electric vehicles and a broader rebound in the country’s automotive industry. On a month-on-month basis, car sales jumped 22.1%. Over the January–February period, total wholesale volumes reached 147,631 units, while retail new car sales climbed 16.7% from the previous month to 78,219 units.
