India’s combined Manufacturing & Services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) strengthened in February 2026, pointing to a further acceleration in private-sector activity. The composite indicator rose to 59.30 in February from 58.40 in January 2026, on a month-over-month comparison basis.
The uptick suggests that both manufacturing and services continued to expand at a solid pace, with growth in February outstripping that seen at the start of the year. The February reading, updated on 20 February 2026, indicates that the current month’s improvement was stronger than the gain recorded in January over the previous month, underlining a sustained and slightly accelerating expansion in India’s business activity.
