Paraguay Trade Surplus Widens in March

Paraguay’s trade surplus widened to $166.8 million in March 2026, up from $46.7 million in the same month a year earlier, marking the largest surplus since May 2024. Exports increased by 35.5% to $1.90 billion, driven by a 69.3% surge in industrial manufactured products, a 64.3% rise in agricultural goods, and a 55.5% increase in primary products. By contrast, electricity exports declined by 49.8%. On the import side, total purchases grew 27.9% to $1.74 billion, with intermediate goods up 22.8%, consumer goods up 15.8%, and capital goods up 3.8%.
