Water Boat Fountain, Spain

At Playa de la Malvarrosa in Valencia, there is an unusual fountain in the shape of a sailboat. It appears to be headed out to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It is constructed from three pipes forming two sidelines of the boat and a sailing yard. The main part of the fountain, namely the water sail and the hull of the boat, is made in the form of flowing streams. The basis of the structure consists of several metal rods that form the sides of the boat and the mast. The main elements of the construction are the metal tube with small openings. Thin streams of water flow from them, creating the illusion of a translucent sail and crystal sides. In the rays of the setting sun, the fountain looks mesmerizing. At night, the fountain utilizes programmable jets with internal waterproof lights built into them. The mixture of jumping water jets and changing colored lights will definitely take your breath away.

Metalmorphosis, US

In Charlotte, North Carolina, there is an unusual mirrored water fountain - Metalmorphosis. This structure resembles a huge human head with water streaming from its mouth. A 14-ton stainless steel kinetic sculpture reaches 7.6 m. Multiple plates divided into horizontal slices slowly rotate out of sync with one another. It creates the shape of a three-dimensional human head. Once every few days, these plates assume a static position and the sculpture takes a clear outline of the head. The horizontal plates of the fountain slowly rotate around their axis. This is why the fountain looks different within a day.

Magic Tap Fountain, Spain

The unique design of the fountain, namely the tap hanging in the air, makes it one of the most popular places in Cadiz. The floating tap fountain is a clever illusion. The spectacular effect is achieved by a transparent tube hidden in the middle of the water column. It holds the tap and provides it with water pumped from below. The water column effectively hides the tube from view. There is a similar fountain in Sochi, Russia. In addition, similar water structures have been built in several other countries.

Charybdis, UK

In Sunderland, visitors are sure to appreciate a vortex fountain called Charybdis. This is definitely one of the most unusual fountains in the world. Created by William Pye, it is located in front of the Seaham Hall Hotel. In a transparent acrylic cylinder with a height of 2.3 m and a diameter of 2.4 m, the fountain appears to fuse with the water itself. It gives the impression of a solid block of liquid rising out of the ground. Pumping systems hidden underground form an air-vortex flow in the cylinder with an artificial whirlpool and a funnel in the center. At the same time, the funnel of the fountain is twisted into a spiral. Visitors can climb the steps and look at the fountain from above. This spectacular view creates a whimsical and dizzying effect.

Moon Rainbow fountain-bridge, South Korea

A fairy-tale fountain, which shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow, stretches on both sides of the Banpo Bridge along the Han River. The 570-meter-long structure is located in Seoul. It has hundreds of nozzles on both sides of the bridge that create a beautiful, illuminated spectacle. The water shades of this fountain, which is also called the Banpo and Rainbow Fountain, fascinate visitors. Apart from that, 380 rainbow-colored jets create 45 m high water streams. Every minute 38 pumps get 190 tons of water. In the evening, the fountain is brilliantly illuminated by 10,000 LEDs.
