The Ifo Business Climate indicator for Germany increased to 89 in August, up from 88.6 in July. This marks the highest level since May 2024, surpassing the forecast of 88.6. Companies' expectations for the upcoming months showed improvement (from 9.6 to 90.7), although their evaluations of the current business conditions slightly declined (from 86.5 to 86.4). "The recovery of the German economy remains fragile," noted Ifo President Clemens Fuest.
