In September 2025, the Euro Area's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 6.3%, consistent with market expectations. The unemployed population rose by 65,000, reaching a total of 11.003 million. The youth unemployment rate, representing job seekers under 25, saw a slight increase to 14.4% from August's revised figure of 14.3%. Within the Eurozone's major economies, Spain (10.5%), France (7.6%), and Italy (6.1%) continued to report the highest unemployment rates, whereas Germany (3.9%) and the Netherlands (4%) recorded the lowest. The unemployment rate was also 6.3% a year earlier. Across the broader European Union, the unemployment rate was unchanged at 6%.
