Cyprus Industrial Output Growth Slows in August

In August 2025, Cyprus experienced a 0.8% year-on-year rise in industrial production, a slowdown from the 1.8% increase recorded in July. This represents the weakest growth in industrial activity since November 2024, when there was a contraction in the sector. Manufacturing output increased at a slower pace, registering a growth of 1.7% compared to 3.9% previously. Similarly, the water supply and materials recovery sectors grew by 3.3%, down from 8.2%. A decrease in electricity supply lessened, declining by 2.6% as opposed to the previous 8% drop. However, mining and quarrying saw a further decline in production. Over the January to August period, industrial production was up by 2.8% compared to the same period in the previous year.
