Eurozone Consumer Confidence Hits 8-Month High

In October 2025, consumer confidence in the Euro Area climbed to -14.2, marking the highest level in eight months, up from -14.9 in September, in line with preliminary estimates. Across the broader European Union, sentiment saw an increase of 0.8 points, reaching -14.3 for the month. This rise was fueled by more optimistic consumer expectations concerning the general economic conditions in their respective countries and a more favorable outlook on their households’ financial futures. However, the uplift was somewhat tempered by a decline in willingness to make significant purchases. Meanwhile, consumer evaluations of their households' financial situations over the preceding three months remained largely unchanged.
