Indonesia Consumer Mood Hits One-Year High

Indonesia experienced a rise in consumer confidence, reaching 127.0 in January 2026, up from 123.5 in December 2025, the highest score since January 2025. This upward trend was attributed to gains across nearly all six major sub-indices. Notably, perceptions of current income levels improved by 3.5 points to 123.7, the economic outlook advanced by 3.2 points to 138.8, and assessments of current economic conditions increased by 3.2 points to 115.1. Additionally, the index measuring the purchase of durable goods increased by 4.2 points to 111.8 compared to the previous year. Job availability, when compared to six months prior, saw an improvement of 4.2 points, reaching 111.8, while projections for future income over the next six months rose by 5.2 points to 146.0. However, expectations for job prospects over the upcoming six months remained steady at 135.1.
