Brazil’s Producer Prices Rebound in December, Ending Two-Month Decline

Brazil’s Producer Price Index (PPI) moved back into positive territory in December 2025, signaling a mild rebound in factory-gate prices after a prior month of deflation. The index rose 0.12% month-over-month, following a -0.35% decline in November 2025, according to data updated on 11 February 2026.

The shift from negative to positive territory suggests a modest strengthening in producer-level pricing dynamics at the end of the year. On a month-over-month basis, the December reading reflects a turnaround compared with November, when prices had contracted relative to October.

The data, measured on a month-over-month comparison, indicate that while price pressures at the producer level remain contained, the December uptick breaks the short-lived downward trend seen in November and may influence expectations for input costs and corporate margins going into 2026.
