Eurozone Services Momentum Inches Higher as HCOB PMI Ticks Up to 51.9 in February

The euro area’s services sector showed a marginal improvement in February, with the HCOB Eurozone Services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) edging up to 51.9 from 51.8 previously. Both readings relate to February 2026, highlighting a slight upward revision or refinement in the latest data, which were updated on 4 March 2026.

With the index remaining above the 50-point threshold that separates expansion from contraction, the latest figure points to continued, if modest, growth in the eurozone’s services economy. The near-static movement from 51.8 to 51.9 suggests activity is stabilizing rather than accelerating, indicating that while the sector is expanding, momentum remains subdued.

The February update will be closely watched by investors and policymakers looking for confirmation that the services side of the eurozone economy is maintaining resilience amid broader uncertainties. Even a minor uptick in the PMI can reinforce expectations that the region’s recovery is holding, albeit at a measured pace.
