Croatia Inflation Rate Eases in May

Croatia’s annual inflation rate eased to 5.2% in May 2026, down from 5.8% in April, according to preliminary estimates. Energy prices jumped 16.9%, largely reflecting the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Prices of food, beverages, and tobacco rose 2.3%, while services inflation quickened to 7.9%. By contrast, prices of non-energy industrial goods fell 0.7%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined 0.2% in May—marking the first drop since December 2025—after a 1.6% increase in the previous month.
