Sweden Consumer Morale Hits 18-Month High

Sweden's household confidence indicator rose to 97.1 in July 2026, up from an upwardly revised 94.2 in June. Although this was the strongest reading since January 2025, consumer sentiment still lagged behind normal levels. The main drags were weaker expectations for personal finances over the coming twelve months and a muted appetite for major purchases. Households also continued to see it as very unlikely that they would buy a car within the next year. By contrast, the survey’s other components were broadly in line with their long-term averages.
