Slovakia Consumer Morale Edges Down in July

Slovakia’s consumer confidence indicator inched down to -27.4 in July 2026 from a four-month high of -27.3 in June. Consumers grew more pessimistic about their households’ financial outlook (-13.2 vs. -11.3 in June), and expectations for household savings also weakened (-21.3 vs. -19.1). Evaluations of households’ past financial situation similarly deteriorated (-16.0 vs. -15.1).

By contrast, expectations regarding unemployment improved markedly (33.2 vs. 36.2), and views on the general economic outlook became slightly less negative (-41.8 vs. -42.4). Assessments of the past economic situation also showed a modest improvement (-53.7 vs. -54.0). On the inflation front, perceptions of past price growth continued to ease (41.5 vs. 42.4).
