Eurozone Industry Confidence Improves More than Expected

The Euro Area industrial confidence indicator rose to -6.1 in July 2026 from -7.3 in June, beating market expectations of -7. Confidence in the industrial sector across the Eurozone continued to firm, supported by more optimistic assessments from managers regarding future production and the current level of overall order books. By contrast, perceptions of finished goods inventories worsened slightly. Among the survey questions not captured in the headline indicator, managers reported a marked improvement in production over recent months. Sentiment toward export order books also turned more positive, suggesting a gradual recovery in external demand.
