Frankfurt’s DAX 40 rose 0.8% to 25,800 in the final trading session of July, marking its highest level since this month’s record peak and putting the index on course for a monthly gain of over 3%. The advance was supported by a sharp rebound in technology shares, broadly positive corporate earnings, and a continued steep drop in oil prices, even as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East remained elevated. Chipmaker Infineon led the benchmark with a rise of more than 6%, followed by Siemens Energy and Hochtief, which both added 3.7%. On the downside, Siemens Healthineers fell more than 2% after cutting its revenue guidance for fiscal 2025/26, citing ongoing weakness in its diagnostics division. In other corporate news, defense electronics specialist Hensoldt reported that order intake more than doubled year-on-year, sportswear maker Puma reaffirmed its full-year outlook despite softer demand, and wafer producer Siltronic delivered strong quarterly results.
