Slovenia Inflation Rate Slows in July

Slovakia’s annual inflation rate slowed to 2.9% in July 2026, its lowest level since March and down from 3.6% in June, indicating weaker price pressures for both goods (2.0% vs 2.9%) and services (4.6% vs 5.0%). Food prices declined by 0.4% after a 0.5% increase in June. Inflation also eased in several key categories: housing and utilities (4.7% vs 4.9%), transport (2.6% vs 4.7%), healthcare (2.1% vs 5.1%), information and communication (2.8% vs 3.0%), and education services (3.1% vs 3.2%). Prices in restaurants and hotels rose at an unchanged annual rate of 2.7%.

By contrast, inflation accelerated in recreation, sports and culture (6.3% vs 4.8%), clothing and footwear (0.9% vs 0.0%), furnishings and household equipment (1.3% vs 0.6%), and insurance and financial services (2.5% vs 2.2%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.1% in July, marking the first month-on-month decline since January, after a 0.9% increase in June. Harmonised inflation, measured according to EU standards, eased to 3.0% in July from 3.7% in the previous month.
