Greece Industrial Production Expands for 10th Month

Industrial output in Greece increased by 1.1% year-on-year in June 2026, easing from a downwardly revised 3.7% expansion in May. Even so, it marked the tenth consecutive month of growth, achieved against a backdrop of challenging macroeconomic conditions linked to the war in the Middle East and the resulting rise in energy costs for goods producers.

The overall expansion was driven by manufacturing, which grew by 2.4%. Within manufacturing, output rose notably in machinery and equipment (5%), fabricated metal products (2.2%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (8.1%), textiles (2.2%), and food (2.2%).

By contrast, production declined in several sectors: mining and quarrying (-3%), electricity supply (-3.8%), and water supply (-2.6%). On a month-on-month basis, total industrial production edged down by 0.4%.
