Belarus Inflation Edges Up in July

Belarus’s annual inflation rate inched up to 4.4% in July 2026 from 4.3% in June, reflecting quicker price growth in several categories. Inflation accelerated for transport (5.3% vs. 4.7%), clothing and footwear (2.9% vs. 1.9%), furnishings (2.8% vs. 2.5%), health (2.8% vs. 2.6%), information and communication (1.8% vs. 1.3%), recreation, sports and culture (8.4% vs. 7.7%), and restaurants and hotels (6.8% vs. 6.4%).

At the same time, price growth was unchanged for housing and utilities at 10.3% and for alcoholic beverages and tobacco at 7%. By contrast, food inflation slowed to 2.3% from 2.7%, and inflation for insurance and financial services edged down to 3.7% from 3.8%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.3%, the same pace as in the previous month.
