Serbia Current Account Deficit Doubles in July

Serbia’s current account deficit widened sharply to $540 million in July 2026, compared with a deficit of $265 million in the same month a year earlier. The services account shifted from a surplus of $99 million to a deficit of $80 million, and the primary income deficit increased from $400 million to $635 million. By contrast, the goods deficit narrowed from $607 million to $541 million, while the secondary income surplus rose from $644 million to $715 million. Over the first seven months of 2026, Serbia recorded a current account deficit of $2,199 million, down from $2,396 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.
