Canada retail sales for March are due at 8:30 am ET Thursday. Ahead of the data, the loonie traded mixed against its major counterparts. While it held steady against the greenback, it rose against the rest of major rivals.

The loonie was worth 1.3718 against the euro, 99.06 against the yen, 0.9073 against the aussie and 1.2824 against the greenback at 8:25 am ET.
