Kosovo Inflation Holds 2-Year High in July

In July 2025, Kosovo's annual inflation rate held steady at 4.3%, mirroring the figure from the previous month and maintaining its peak since May 2023. Notably, price pressures increased within the categories of food and non-alcoholic beverages, rising to 9.2% from June's 8.8%, as well as in recreation and culture, which climbed to 3.5% from 2.5%. Restaurants and hotels also saw a rise, reaching 7.9% from the previous 7.5%. However, these increases were tempered by continued decreases in transport costs, which fell by 3.3% compared to a 2.3% drop in June, and slower growth in prices for furnishings and household maintenance (3.2% from 3.6%), housing and utilities (4.5% from 4.9%), apparel (2.5% from 2.9%), alcohol and tobacco (4.2% from 4.4%), and education (3.5% from 3.7%). On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices saw a slight rise of 0.2% in July, a deceleration from the 0.7% increase observed in June.
