DAX Up for 2nd Day

On Tuesday, Germany's DAX index climbed by 0.2%, edging past the 24,000 threshold, continuing the previous day's upward trend. This rise was fueled by optimism surrounding a resolution to the US government shutdown. A significant development occurred when the Senate approved a compromise budget late on Monday, with support from some Democrats aligning with Republicans. The bill is anticipated to pass through the House and reach President Trump's desk, with the potential of reopening the government by Friday. Traders were also attentive to new economic data releases, including the German ZEW sentiment index and recent corporate updates. Furthermore, a speech by ECB President Christine Lagarde is scheduled for today, drawing considerable interest. Among the leading performers were Heidelberg Materials, Siemens Energy, and Deutsche Telekom, each posting gains exceeding 1%. Conversely, Rheinmetall experienced a 1.6% decline, leading the day's losses, influenced by Hensoldt's 6% drop after Morgan Stanley expressed reservations regarding its medium-term guidance and long-term revenue projections revealed at the company's Capital Markets Day (CMD).
