DAX Hits Over 3-Week High

Germany's DAX index climbed nearly 1% on Wednesday, surpassing the 24,300 mark for the first time since October 21. This marks the third consecutive day of gains. Investor optimism was fueled by anticipation of a prompt reopening of the U.S. government and projected interest rate reductions by the Federal Reserve. Concurrently, the spotlight was on corporate earnings. Leading the index was Brenntag, experiencing a surge of over 5%, driven by quarterly results that exceeded expectations. Additionally, RWE saw a 3.5% rise following better-than-anticipated profits for the first nine months. Bayer also benefited with a 1.7% increase after reporting robust earnings. Infineon Technologies enjoyed a 1.2% boost after disclosing higher quarterly revenue and forecasting moderate revenue growth for fiscal year 2026, despite challenges posed by currency fluctuations. Conversely, E.ON experienced a 1.5% decline after a significant drop in nine-month profits, although it upheld its guidance for 2025.
