In October 2025, the value of building plans approved in South Africa dropped by 6.9% year-on-year to ZAR 9,572 million. This follows a 2% increase in September after a revision. This represents the first annual decline in three months, with non-residential building permits falling by 16.1% and residential permits dropping by 7.7%.
