In November 2025, Spain experienced a notable acceleration in its retail trade growth, with a year-on-year increase of 6.0%, up from a revised 3.9% in October. This marks the swiftest growth rate since June. The growth was widespread, with significant sales increases observed in several sectors: household equipment surged to 6.0% from 3.8%, cultural and recreational goods climbed to 4.9% from 1.1%, and other specialized stores saw sales rise to 5.7% from 2.9%. Additionally, sales through stalls and markets improved, registering 0.8% compared to 0.1% in the previous month, while online trade experienced a remarkable surge, growing by 11.9% in contrast to 9.1% in October. Trade growth for essentials like food, beverages, and tobacco remained robust at 4.1%, slightly down from 5.2% earlier, and the information and communication equipment sector recorded a notable growth of 19.9%, though slightly lower than October's 21.4%. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales increased by 1% in November, following a stagnant October.
