Chile experienced an unemployment rate of 8.4% during the September to November 2025 quarter, marking a rise of 0.2 percentage points compared to the same period the previous year. This increase was due to the labor force expanding by 1.5%, outpacing the employment growth of 1.2%. Consequently, the number of unemployed individuals increased by 4.0%, propelled by layoffs and new entrants into the job market. Unemployment among men climbed to 8.1%, up by 0.6 percentage points, whereas the rate among women decreased slightly to 8.8%, down by 0.3 percentage points. When viewed on a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate saw a minor uptick of 0.2 percentage points, reaching 8.6%.
