In December 2025, the services confidence index within the Euro Area experienced a slight decrease, dipping by 0.2 percentage points to settle at 5.6. This result came in below market forecasts, which anticipated a rise to a 14-month peak of 5.9. Despite this slight downturn, the level of confidence remained significantly higher than the average of the previous year. The recent three-month assessment of the business situation showed a moderated yet still positive trend (0.1 compared to 0.9 in November), reflecting a more subdued outlook for demand in the forthcoming quarter (5.2 down from 5.8).
