In November 2025, Canada's wholesale trade experienced a 1.8% decrease compared to the previous month, totaling C$84.4 billion. This follows an upward revision of a 0.4% increase in October and falls significantly short of the anticipated 0.1% growth. Sales decreased in four of the seven subsectors, which together account for approximately 44.5% of total wholesale activity. Notably, motor vehicles and parts saw a decline of 11.5% to C$12.9 billion, whereas food, beverage, and tobacco wholesalers registered a 3.1% increase, reaching C$16.3 billion. The downturn in wholesale figures was partly balanced by a substantial drop in building material and supplies wholesalers. Ontario recorded the largest provincial decrease, with a 3.9% drop to C$42.5 billion. When Ontario is excluded, national wholesale sales increased by 0.1%. Meanwhile, wholesale inventories climbed by 0.6%, bringing them up to C$136.0 billion.
