In December 2025, China's surveyed urban unemployment rate remained at 5.1%, consistent with the figures from the previous two months and slightly below the anticipated 5.2%. The unemployment rate among the locally registered labor force also held steady at 5.3%, while the rate for the migrant labor force remained at 4.7% since October. Specifically, within the migrant workforce, individuals with agricultural household registration experienced an unemployment rate of 4.4%. In the 31 major cities, the surveyed urban unemployment rate was similarly stable at 5.1%. On average, employees across enterprises nationwide worked 48.6 hours per week. For the year, the average national surveyed urban unemployment rate was 5.2%.
