The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 6.2% in December 2025, consistent with the figure from the prior month. Nonetheless, this represents the highest unemployment level since March 2021, as the count of unemployed individuals rose by 1,181 from the previous month, reaching an unprecedented peak of 21,088. Concurrently, total employment fell by 2,307, hitting a four-month low of 299,323. The active labor force among Luxembourg nationals also saw a decrease of 1,126, totaling 320,411. Regarding cross-border employment, the number of outgoing resident workers stayed steady at 14,046, whereas incoming cross-border workers decreased by 4,012, totaling 230,455.
