The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk freight index, which tracks rates for vessels transporting dry bulk commodities, rose for a 12th consecutive session on Monday, gaining 2.6% to reach 2,633 points, its highest level since early December 2025. The capesize index, reflecting earnings for ships typically carrying 150,000-ton cargoes such as iron ore and coal, also advanced for the 12th straight session, climbing about 4.2% to 4,300 points, its strongest level in more than four months. Meanwhile, the supramax index added 0.5% to 1,422 points, and the panamax index, which usually covers vessels carrying 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, inched up 0.1% to 1,976 points.
