The upswing was largely driven by stronger demand for petroleum and petroleum products (up 100%), mechanical machinery and equipment (23%), vehicles, parts, and accessories (12%), and electrical machinery and equipment (36%). By country of origin, imports rose from China (32%), Australia (24%), the United States (7.0%), South Korea (41%), and the European Union (24%).
