New Zealand’s exports rose 25% year-on-year to NZD 8.1 billion in June 2026, accelerating from an 8.1% increase in May. The expansion was primarily driven by higher shipments of milk powder, butter, and cheese (up 16%); meat and edible offal (52%); preparations of milk, cereals, flour, and starch (130%); and aluminum and aluminum products (74%). By destination, exports to China surged 24%, while shipments to the United States climbed 43%. Exports to Australia, Japan, and the European Union also increased, by 18%, 19%, and 6.9%, respectively.
