Slovakia’s current account deficit widened to EUR 1,035.3 million in July 2026, up from EUR 575.8 million in the same month a year earlier, marking the largest gap since December 2024. The goods account deficit expanded to EUR 523.7 million from EUR 204.6 million, while the primary income shortfall increased to EUR 420.8 million from EUR 265.8 million. By contrast, the services surplus rose to EUR 39.9 million from EUR 30.5 million, and the secondary income deficit narrowed slightly to EUR 130.6 million from EUR 136.0 million. Over the first seven months of 2026, the current account deficit reached EUR 2,418.5 million, improving from EUR 3,275.3 million in the same period of 2025.
