FX.co ★ U.S. Job Openings Edge Slightly Lower In June

The U.S. Labor Department published a report on Tuesday revealing a minor decline in job openings for June. According to the report, job openings decreased slightly to 8.18 million in June, down from an upwardly revised figure of 8.23 million in May.

Economists had anticipated a drop in job openings to 8.03 million, compared to the originally reported 8.14 million for the prior month.

Moreover, the number of hires and total separations remained relatively stable, recorded at 5.3 million and 5.1 million, respectively. Within the category of separations, the figures for quits stood at 3.3 million, while layoffs and discharges were reported at 1.5 million—both showing little change from previous counts.
